Phoenix Arizona Temple: A Construction Visit
Brandon and I stopped by the construction site for the Phoenix Temple on Friday. We have stopped by many times before to peak through the fence but, last time we went we saw that they actually have visiting hours and a deck where you can see the progress of the temple! There is a trailer set up with information about Ancient Temples, Current Temples, Missions, Eternal Families and much more. It's a great place to take a non member who has some questions! We had lots of fun and it will be neat to go back and watch the temple be built! How lucky are we to have a temple being constructed so close to us?!

An update on us
I wanted to update everyone on our blog and fill you in on our lives. Brandon and I have been really busy lately! But, we like it.
I've gone back to school and I'm studying Social Work. I want to work with children in some way, I just haven't found the exact place yet. I started a new job for a collections agency, something much different than my other line of work, but I like it. It's something new and challenging and it helps that I like the people I work with! We are waiting to hear back from dental schools and we know it might be a while after hearing all the horror stories everyone else is having. Being in 'no man's land' is a little bit frustrating because I'm not one to fly by the seat of my pants but, it's what we are doing for now.
Both our brothers are serving full-time missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and we like getting letters and pictures from them. It's hard to believe that they have almost been out for a year! Time is flying so fast! We have created blogs for them and update them weekly with the emails and pictures they send us. Here are their links: Elder Coniam and Elder Dawson. They are doing great and love being missionaries! It's amazing how much they have changed already! One of my favorite missionary quotes is:
Missionary: Someone who leaves their family for two years so that other can be with their families for Eternity.
I've started blogging again. I've found some extra time in my day and I just love getting comments from girls my age and knowing I'm not the only one going through all the things I'm going through! I love it! If you want to follow me on my blog head HERE.
I also have picked up couponing! It is so much fun to see how far your money can go! I'm not an extreme couponer, simply because I think it is selfish, but I like getting good deals that many other people don't pay attention to.
We also wanted to share with you our favorite cookie recipe. They are called Whoopie Pies. If you like chocolate you will be in love with these bad boys!

Cookie Mix:
1 box of Devils Food Cake mix
(just over) 1/2 cup Crisco
2 eggs
Frosting:
2 cups powder sugar
1/4 cup butter
4 oz cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
bake for 8-10 minutes!
(oh and a little secret, when you take the whoopie pies out of the oven press them flat with a spatula.)

Buying a car is such a long process! Why can't these sales people just be up front? Brandon and I spent two weeks car shopping and it really tired us out! But, good news... we got the car we wanted! I wouldn't settle for a different car, which could be one of the reasons why it took a bit longer but it was worth it! So here she is, yes, its a girl (we call her white beauty)!!
