Prom 2010

Brandon was asked to play harp for Mountain Ridge prom again this year! We had the whole Dawson/Hunter crew and it was super fun! Why wouldn't it be fun to have your husband be your prom date?! Now, I didn't get to take many pictures so I am going to take some from everyone else but, here are the ones we got! (:

Chinese Cultural Center

Every time we go to the temple we see these cool Chinese buildings and always say, "Hey! We should go there sometime!" So... we finally went there! It was cool to see all the Chinese buildings and the beautiful gardens. They have a Chinese grocery store with live fish and crabs in the back! Gross!! We had some fun taking pictures of everything we saw!

A couple of weeks ago my cousin Bret got married! I rarely get to see my cousins just because of every ones crazy schedules but, I am so glad I got to be there for his wedding! Everyone looked awesome in their tuxes and dresses! I know Bret and Ashley will be so happy together! Congrats guys!!!!

Glenn Beck's American Revival Tour!

This is the first post that I've (Brandon) done in a LONG time! I had the awesome opportunity to go to the American Revival Tour by Glenn Beck! Alyssa and I had wanted to go ever since we heard about it but we decided that it was too expensive to go. Long story short, we didn't plan on going but the afternoon before the show I got a phone call from a friend at work. He told me that he had two extra tickets if I wanted them. Several small miracles later I got of work and had the tickets. The big bummer about the whole thing is that Alyssa had no way of getting off work to go with me! Apparently I'm not very popular and couldn't get anyone to go with me (Dan Hunter or Daniel Dawson) but found that Dan Hunter had a cousin in town, Sam, who wanted to go. As far as the actual event goes, it felt like it was a fireside or something! The main theme that I got out of it is that we need to clean the inner vessel and that America's foundation is rich in faith in God and we need to restore America and not "transform" her. Glenn talked about his triangle with God at the bottom (holding the most space in our lives and country), then charity (holding the second most importance), then government (occupying the smallest space). It all made sense! We are the only country to have had such a stable government for so long and it's because we were built by the grace of God and now that politicians have all but removed Him completely from our country we are paying for it and will be hard-pressed to survive. Ok, this guy is part of a story... We had to try our chances at getting back stage, of course. Since Sam and I just met he went ahead and saved my name in his phone as Glenn Beck and I sent him a text saying something like "Hey, come on back. Tell them I said it was ok." Unfortunately this guy was more knowledgeable than we had hoped for and didn't buy it for a second. After finding out that there was another guy behind the door who was a "good shot" we decided not to just run for it.

Alright, this guy is dressed like a doctor so we know that what he says is true! Actually, after talking to him we found out that he really is a physician. He was there selling different versions of the Bill of Rights and Constitution as seen through the scope of "progressives." They were called the "Bill of Fairness" and the "Declaration of Dependence." Poorrichardson.com

The Easter Pageant

It has become a tradition for us a our friends Faith and Landon to go to the Easter Pageant! We love it! This time we went extra early to get the good seats! Sure enough we did! 8th row baby!! It is so amazing how much more you can see when you are up so close!

If you have never been to the Easter Pageant I most definitely recommend it! I get goose bumps every time we go. I know these "goose bumps" are the Holy Ghost testifying to me the truth that the Savior Lives! My favorite part of the Pageant is at the end when Jesus is on the very top of the building with his Angels and people around him singing! So beautiful!
