Grateful For Fathers

Father's day was a little different around our neck of the woods. Both Mike and Bradley were on their missions so there was always someone missing somewhere. Brandon's family was out of town in Mexico so we didn't spend the actual day with them. We had delicious roast at my families house and had dad open presents.

We are so grateful for our dads and for all the love and support they give us! Happy Father's Day!

Best Two Years

Michael reported to the MTC on Wednesday June 15th at 12:45. Before dropping him off at the MTC we made a little journey through Utah that started on Saturday June 11th. We drove up through Las Vegas, and visited several cities along the way, watched movies (Disney of course), visited temples, and did much more! It was a great time to be with Mike before he entered the MTC we all enjoyed the time we had together.

Our first stop was St. George, UT. In St. George we visited the St George Temple and did a session. The St. George Temple is so beautiful and clean. We parked in the back of the temple, not knowing where the entrance was, and walked along the temple grounds and felt the peace of the Spirit. After our session at the temple, we headed out to eat. Sunday morning we went to Sacrament Meeting at one of the near church buildings and the ward members were so friendly. Many of the ward members who came up to us assumed that Mike was going on a mission and I loved their comments, “You can see the glow in his countenance.” they would say. After Sacrament Meeting on Sunday we headed to Circleville to visit a dear friend.

Our second to last stop was Salt Lake City. In Salt Lake we had lots of fun. We visited Temple Square, did a session there and walked the outside of the temple. We also learned some pretty awesome things about the outside about the temple and what the symbols outside it mean. We had fun searching four our ancestors in the Family History Building, Shopped at Gateway Mall, Visited the Humanitarian Center, Visited “This is the Place”, and The Cemetery where some Prophets are buried. We had a pretty busy week!

Our last stop was in Provo. We all had nervous stomachs and were trying to hold back our tears because we knew how the day would end. We got all our stuff packed and headed down to Provo. Because of our nervous stomachs we weren’t very hungry but knew Mike needed to eat something so his stomach wouldn’t be growling all day so we stopped at In-N-Out. As we pulled up to In-N-Out we saw so many 19 year olds with White shirts and black slacks on! It was really cool! After In-N-Out we headed to the MTC. As we were passing by the MTC we saw tons of cars and families with their missionaries. We decided that we wanted to take a few pictures before we dropped Mike off so we pulled over and took some quick pictures. After we took pictures we headed over to the MTC and dropped Mike off. Of course we cried but they aren’t bad tears. We know Mike has been called to serve in the DR for a reason, this reason we do not know but we can trust in our Heavenly Father and know that he knows why Mike has been called to serve in the DR. We are grateful for Michael's example to serve a mission and be the first Coniam out there.
